Moore Australia is pleased to announce the appointment of new Tax Partner, Gary Calford, at our Queensland and Northern New South Wales (Moore Australia (QLD/NNSW) firm from Monday 13 February 2023. Moore Australia is also pleased to announce the appointment of Wilson Tang as Governance and Risk Advisory Partner at our Victoria (Moore Australia (VIC) firm from 6 February 2023.
ABOUT GARY
Gary’s appointment at Moore Australia (QLD/NNSW) adds additional breadth to the firm’s tax offering and will support the continued growth and expansion of this service to clients. He joins the firm’s Brisbane office, located at 10 Eagle Street, and the leadership team of 17 partners. Gary also joins the national tax committee, who regularly collaborate on tax issues, providing advice, evaluating legislation and supporting the network.
Gary brings 22 years’ experience within top tier firms and a commercial tax role with an ASX listed mining company. His knowledge spans all areas of tax including international tax, corporate restructures, mergers and acquisitions, private tax issues, tax compliance, R&D tax incentives and tax-effect accounting.

Prior to joining Moore, Gary led high performing tax teams at EY and PKF.
ABOUT WILSON
Wilson has joined from the multi-national corporation Adidas, where he was based in Hong Kong and leads the Moore Australia (VIC) Governance and Risk Advisory team. His 15-year career has been spent in both professional services and industry teams, focused on helping organisations in identifying process gaps and providing value adding recommendations to enhance risk and process maturity.
Wilson has extensive experience in leading internal audit, risk, and assurance services which has seen him work across multiple sectors including government, health, manufacturing, and education. He has worked with several ASX Top 100 clients as well as federal and state government agencies.
