The Role 

As the Audit and Assurance Practice Lead you will play an integral role in the leadership team to review and optimise key functions and processes across the division to deliver better team engagement and commercial outcomes.  This senior level role is perfect for someone with a depth of experience across Audit who gets excited about process improvement and team member experience and is looking for a change from a client facing role to focus on the internal team. 

Key areas of responsibility include: 

  • Leading workforce planning and oversight of workflow for the division. 

  • Ensuring quality management practices align with current standards and documentation supports a best practice approach. 

  • Working as part of the leadership team to ensure team engagement processes are delivered consistently across the division. 

  • Working with the leadership team and operational teams to improve commercial outcomes for the division. 

  • Lead projects within audit including working cross functionally with other divisions to support the implementation of firmwide projects. 
     

The successful candidate will have significant experience in a professional services role within Audit at the management level and experience with defining and refining internal processes with a commercial lens. This includes: 

  • 6 years’ experience in professional services with an emphasis on Audit and Assurance. 

  • Demonstrated people leadership experience. 

  • Experience in managing complex schedules and resourcing. 

  • Extensive operational management experience within an audit function. 

  • Exceptional commercial acumen and the ability to analyse data to identify and execute improvement to processes. 

  • Deep knowledge of and exposure to a range of technical accounting and audit issues. 

  • Extensive exposure to and knowledge of current tax and accounting issues, including applicable or emerging laws and regulations. 

  • Depth of knowledge of accounting standards (AUASB) and auditing standards (AASB & IFRS) 

  • Applicable corporate governance requirements.
