Introduction

Canberra accounting and advisory firm Cosgrave Soutter will join the Moore Australia and Moore Global networks as Moore Australia (ACT) from 19 October 2026, trading as Moore Australia.

The move brings the firm into a national and global community of independent firms while retaining its local leadership, established client relationships and understanding of the Canberra market.

For Cosgrave Soutter, the decision reflects the changing demands on modern accounting and advisory firms. Regulatory requirements continue to evolve, while clients increasingly expect advisers to bring together expertise across technical disciplines, sectors and jurisdictions. Membership of the Moore network gives the Canberra team deeper resources to draw on while preserving the personal service and local accountability on which the firm has been built.

“The addition of Cosgrave Soutter demonstrates the practical value a connected network can offer an ambitious independent firm. The expectations placed on advisers are broader and more complex than ever. No firm should have to build every capability alone. A strong network gives firms access to technical depth, specialist colleagues, quality frameworks and shared learning, while allowing them to stay close to their clients and communities. Cosgrave Soutter brings strong local relationships and an experienced team to Moore Australia, and we look forward to helping them build on that foundation.”

The network is also expected to broaden the opportunities available to Cosgrave Soutter’s people. Team members will be able to connect with peers around Australia and internationally, participate in network learning and development initiatives, contribute to specialist groups and gain exposure to a wider range of work and career pathways.

Kelli Lawton, Director at Cosgrave Soutter, said joining Moore Australia represents a considered investment in the firm’s next chapter.

“We have always believed that strong client relationships begin with people who understand the local market and take responsibility for the advice they give. Joining Moore allows us to keep that approach while adding depth around it. Our clients will continue to work with the same team, and our people will have more opportunities to learn, collaborate and build their careers. That combination was important to us as we considered the future of the firm.”
