Introduction

We’re pleased to announce Kylie Maher, Director Governance and Risk Advisory, has recently been appointed as an Independent Member of the joint Audit Committee for the Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB) and Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (AUASB) for a three-year period.

The appointment leverages off Kylie’s 20 years of public sector governance, audit and risk consulting experience. Kylie’s role provides governance and oversight of the operational management of the AASB/AUSB – guiding the organisation in continuously improving its financial, risk and compliance management frameworks. In addition, the role will bring currency and best practice from her work in leading governance and risk services within Moore Australia.

About the AASB/AUASB Audit Committee
The audit committee acts as an advisory body independent of management to the AASB/AUASB on accountability and audit related matters. It reviews the appropriateness of the AASB/AUASB financial, performance reporting and system of risk oversight and management and internal controls.
