Giving technology a second life to support digital inclusion
Moore Australia has donated 27 end-of-life laptops to LiteHaus International, a not-for-profit organisation committed to bridging the digital divide for children across regional Australia and the Asia-Pacific.
Rather than ending up in landfill, these laptops will be securely data-wiped, refurbished, and distributed to students in need, giving them the tools to thrive in a digital world. This contribution reflects our continued commitment to digital equity, community engagement and sustainability.
Supporting digital inclusion and sustainability
Each donated device will be repurposed under LiteHaus International’s Digital Inclusion Program, which provides free laptops to students in regional, rural and remote Australia who don’t have access to one of their own. For students living in areas without consistent access to digital resources, a personal laptop can be life-changing, unlocking access to learning, training, and development that’s increasingly digital-first.
“Access to a good and well-rounded education shouldn’t be a privilege, and it’s our responsibility to do what we can to support the next generation.,” said Matt Thomson, CEO of Moore Australia (QLD/NNSW). “By donating equipment we no longer use, we’re helping children and communities gain access to the tools they need while also reducing environmental impact.”
One small action, wide-reaching impact
Moore Australia’s donation is one of many small actions that collectively make a large difference. The laptops donated will help students build digital literacy, access online learning, and participate more fully in the digital economy.
This is just one example of Moore Australia’s Social Ambition promise “To always be a driving force for positive social impact”. Moore connects with purpose; serving communities, clients and the environment through actions that align with our values. We believe in helping people thrive in a changing world, and in this case, it starts with a refurbished laptop to support a child’s education.
