About the role
We’re now seeking an Accountant to join one of our Business Advisory teams in our Brisbane CBD office. You’ll be part of a supportive and high-performing team, delivering quality accounting, taxation and advisory services to a diverse client base across multiple industries.
Your day-to-day work will involve preparing financial statements, tax returns, and compliance obligations for a range of entities, including companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals. You’ll assist with budgets, cashflow forecasts, and profit estimates, and support the implementation of tax planning strategies under the guidance of senior team members.
You’ll also have the opportunity to deepen your technical knowledge, build strong client relationships, and develop your professional judgment as you work toward your CA or CPA qualification. What you’ll do
- Prepare financial statements, income tax returns, and compliance obligations for a range of clients
- Assist with budgets, cashflow forecasts, and profit estimates
- Support the implementation of tax planning strategies
- Work closely with Senior Accountants, Supervisors, Managers and Partners to deliver quality client outcomes
- Contribute to process improvements and support junior staff where needed
- Engage with the Moore network by collaborating across teams and attending firm and industry events
About You
About You
- Bachelor of Commerce or Business (Accounting) or equivalent
- 2-3 years’ experience in a professional accounting or business services environment
- Currently undertaking or intending to commence CA or CPA studies
- Strong communicator with the ability to priority and plan workflow
- Experience with income tax returns – individual, company, trust and partnership and BAS returns
- Exposure to CGT, FBT, Div7a
- Able to confidently liaise with the ATO on various matters
- A proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and development

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Tax team. Whether you’re early in your career and eager to grow or a skilled professional looking to take on more responsibility, we’d love to hear from you.
This is a junior-to-intermediate role designed to grow you into a trusted tax adviser. You will spend the majority of your time on tax advisory (covering domestic and international issues), supported by a smaller compliance component that underpins the advice. You will be coached by experienced tax specialists and gain exposure to technically interesting matters You will also assist on international-related questions (for example withholding tax, residency and inbound/outbound considerations) and have collaboration with Moore Global colleagues.
As a Tax Consultant, you will:
- Support senior team members on tax advisory engagements, including structuring, tax planning, CGT, international tax, GST/FBT and private group issues
- Assist with preparing and reviewing compliance deliverables: individual and business tax returns, BAS/IAS and associated ATO lodgements
- Research tax law and ATO guidance, and help draft clear client-ready advice and technical papers
- Contribute to projects such as restructures, transactions and ATO reviews/private rulings
- Build your career through formal study (CA/CPA/CTA or equivalent) and ongoing coaching, with opportunities to support occasional cross-border matters.
About You
You are curious, detail-oriented and enjoy turning technical issues into practical advice. You take ownership, communicate clearly, and value learning in a collaborative team.
- A degree in Commerce, Business (Accounting), Law, or a related field.
- 1-4+ years of experience in tax/accounting or business advisory in a professional services environment.
- Exposure to Australian tax, with an interest in building deeper advisory capability (tax structuring, corporate tax, international tax and FBT).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to write clear, well-structured advice.
- A passion for technical tax issues, with a keen interest to stay up to date with evolving legislative and administrative developments
- Capable of building positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Organised, enthusiastic and driven toward career development and future success
- A desire for continuous learning and development (CA/CPA/CTA program in progress or planned).
