Changes to the Small Business Superannuation Clearing House – What You Need to Know Moore Australia 19 August 2025 Share The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has confirmed important upcoming changes to the Small Business Superannuation Clearing House (SBSCH) as part of the Payday Super reforms. If your business currently uses the SBSCH to manage employee superannuation payments, it’s important to plan ahead. Key dates to remember: From 1 October 2025 – New users will no longer be able to register for the SBSCH. From 1 July 2026 – The SBSCH will close for all users. If you are already using the SBSCH, you can continue making payments until 30 June 2026. However, now is the time to explore alternative arrangements. What to do next: If your business currently uses the SBSCH, we recommend considering the following: Review your existing payroll or accounting software – many already have superannuation payment functions built in; or Consider using a commercial clearing house or other payroll service providers. Acting early will ensure a smooth transition and avoid last-minute disruption to your superannuation obligations.
