About the opportunity:

Based in our Brisbane CBD office we are looking for Senior Accountants /  Supervisors ready to take on new challenges and be part of Moore Australia (QLD/NNSW) continued strong and dynamic growth strategy.  As a Senior Accountant / Supervisor in our team you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide exceptional client service across a range of accounting, compliance and advisory services
  • Undertake accounting / business services assignments for clients including accounts preparation, annual returns, BAS preparation, budget/cash flow/profit forecasts, trusts/companies and evaluation of client accounting systems, monitoring client management reports for underlying business improvement issues
  • Undertake taxation services including researching and concluding tax issues, verifying financial results and analyse income and expenditure, prepare & check tax returns and gather and manage FBT system (information gathering, completion and calculation procedures)
  • Input ideas to improve efficiencies to accounting systems and work processes
  • Attend internal and external training sessions including the input of potential training topics to enhance knowledge
  • Foster and contribute to a client-focused team and supportive workplace culture
  • Further develop the practice by assisting with learning and development and business development initiatives
  • Prior experience in primary production will also be highly regarded.

  • CA/CPA qualified (or working towards) 
  • At least 3+ years of Australian experience in a business advisory/tax consulting role in a professional services accounting firm
  • Ability to build rapport easily with a diverse range of stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Great communicator - written (clear communication in your advice) and verbal (to speak with clients)
  • Excellent research skills coupled with comprehension and application of facts
  • A deadline driven focus with strong attention to detail
  • A professional approach and ability to identify matters that require action to complete yourself or raise with your Manager
  • Demonstrated technical abilities including experience in MYOB AE
  • Readiness to get involved with some more complex engagements, supporting senior staff with workflow and meeting deadlines
  • Passion for providing hands-on services to clients across a variety of industries
  • A motivated, team-oriented attitude, and commitment to continual improvement
  • Demonstrated interest in individual client needs with the ability to make recommendations to your Manager to enhance client experiences.
