About the role

Based in our Biloela office we are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Business Advisory division. We are looking for someone who is ready to take on challenges and help us in our continued strong and dynamic growth strategy.

As a Senior Accountant within the firm’s Business Advisory division, you will be required to complete client work across a range of accounting, compliance, and advisory services. 

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide exceptional client service across a range of accounting, compliance and advisory services
  • Undertake accounting / business services assignments for clients including accounts preparation, annual returns, BAS preparation, budget/cash flow/profit forecasts, trusts/companies and evaluation of client accounting systems, monitoring client management reports for underlying business improvement issues
  • Undertake taxation services including researching and concluding tax issues, verifying financial results and analyse income and expenditure, prepare & check tax returns and gather and manage FBT system (information gathering, completion and calculation procedures)
  • Attend internal and external training sessions including the input of potential training topics to enhance knowledge
  • Preparation and review of complex individual, company, trust, partnership tax returns and financial statements with limited supervision or direction.
  • Maintain and produce complex financial reports using Xero, MYOB and Reckon APS
  • Preparation of management accounts, cash flow reports and annual financial reports across various entity structures and industries.
  • Further develop the practice by assisting with learning and development and business development initiatives
  • Foster and contribute to a client-focused team and supportive workplace culture

Skills and Experience

  • CA/CPA qualified or working towards a postgraduate qualification in either CA or CPA
  • At least 3 years’ experience in professional services with an emphasis on Accounting, Tax or Audit and Assurance
  • Ability to build rapport easily with a diverse range of stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Great communicator - written (clear communication in your advice) and verbal (to speak with clients)
  • Exposure to larger client groups and sophisticated business structures with multiple entities and technical complexity
  • A professional approach and the ability to identify matters that require action and complete either by self or raising with your manager
  • Demonstrated technical abilities including experience in MYOB AE
  • Deadline driven with an attention to detail
